Marid Castle in Dumat al-Jandal in Al-Jawf, in the north of the Kingdom, is one of the most prominent ancient urban sites. It is about 10 km from the city of Sakaka. 50 km, the castle was built of stones. The castle consists of a wall with several observation holes and several high towers 12 meters, and there are deep wells in the castle and floors for guards, shooting, and surveillance. The castle withstood the invasion of Queen Zenobia of Palmyra, and parts of it maintained its cohesion throughout the ages. Marid Castle was mentioned in one of the poems of the poet of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, Hassan bin Thabit. (Duma Palace)
